Extreme Makeover: Siding & Windows!

Over the past 2.5 years we've s l o w l y, but surely been making progress on updating our 1950's rambler. This summer we're planning to do a big project...new siding and windows! I am so excited to have a brand new looking house, and to finally be able to throw away all the sticks that hold open our windows! Jack Frost can say goodbye to our house once we have new double pane windows. Can you believe we have single paned windows in a place that is -40 degrees six months out of the year?!??!

We're able to do all this through our friends at E-Z-Quote.com. They have an awesome siding calculator where you can measure your own house and then just type in the measurements yourself to get a quote. You don't have to call anyone or have any sales people come over to your house. It's so easy! I highly recommend it. Working full time I don't have hours to spend finding people to come over and give me quotes, and I certainly don't want to waste my precious weekend time doing that either. Doing it myself only took me a few minutes (even with my 10' tape measure--I recommend a longer one!) and gave me all the answers I needed right away.

You know it's time to replace your siding when it is literally falling off and your windows when the house across the street looks wavy! Here's a before picture...I'll be sure to post some up-close pictures so you can see how bad it really is.
