While on vacation in California this past week, my best friend and I hiked Mission Peak. While growing up nearby I had a perfect view of the peak from my bedroom window and have always loved looking at it when I'm in the area, but had never hiked it. For whatever reason, this trip I was determined to make the hike!
We didn't know anything about the hike before we started...not the distance or elevation. I didn't really care, I was determined to do it!

From the top we could see San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, Pleasanton and Livermore!
The stats of Mission Peak... 2,517 feet. By the way, Eagle Mountain is the highest peak in Minnesota at 2,301 feet. Mission Peak is a mere little hill in California! Total distance...5.56 miles. Now I'm recovering from a bad sunburn and really sore legs!
