TVless

We are currently TVless. Our 4 year old Insignia bit the dust this week. We've been TVless before. When we got married, neither of us had a tv, so we lived without one for the first 6 months of married life. Six months in my back went out. I was stuck home alone all day on drugs (so reading was out) and I needed some sort of distraction. I think we paid $120 for our Best Buy Brand tv and another $40 for a dvd player. This was probably our first big purchase as poor college students.

About 2 years ago Lucy chewed up the remote control. No problem right? There are hundreds of universal remotes out there. Nope! Not for our Best Buy special. So for two years, we've been burning extra calories getting up to change the channel. I've wondered if Craig had Lucy chew it up on purpose since he hates that I'm a continual channel changer. We would probably run out and spend $120 on a new tv if that were an option, but with flat screens the new norm, $120 gets us nothing! Much to my dismay, Craig will probably be getting his much desired flat screen sooner than planned...
