So my plan was to write part two of our vacation fun, but life has gotten so busy with other things and that feels like so long ago now, I'm not sure if it's gonna happen. Besides work, school, some crazy/scary/stressful/exciting/unknown things going on, and the rest of everyday life, we decided to get moving on finishing the basement. This is about as far as we had made it last time I filled you all in...oh...you know...2008! Guess things had been put on hold for quite a while.
About two weeks ago we finally got moving BIG time. I can't believe how much progress we've made by working on it almost every night after work and on weekends. My job has been to cut all the boards so my handy dandy husband can nail them in with the super scary nail gun (I seriously duck and cover every time it fires). So far I'm up to about 60 2x4's and a few 12' boards.
Here's how I do it! (Since I'm sure you all were wondering how! Right?!)
Write down the measurement that Craig calls out...
Measure...
Use the orange thingy (can't remember the technical name, but does that really matter?? Nope!) to draw a straight line...
Line up the laser beam!
Cut! (And try to keep all my fingers intact!)
Handoff to husband to nail! (Do you see the size of that gun?? Pretty much a machine gun...get it?! Cause it's a machine!)
So glad I took woodshop in 7th grade...it's coming in handy!
