Proud Puppy Mom

I just need to brag for a second...

This week Craig has been extra forgetful in the mornings before he leaves for work. I'm thinking it's probably because his birthday is tomorrow and he's panicking about how old he's about to be! Everyday this week when I've come home I've found something interesting that he doesn't normally do....all the lights in the house are on, fans on, everything in total disarray.

So today when I got home after being gone for 11 hours I was SHOCKED to open the door and find her! Loose in the house! Something we have NEVER done for more than about 10 minutes when we know she's really tired and likely won't do anything naughty.
Shelly was loose in the house for over 10 hours today. TEN HOURS!!

You see, Lucy is kinda of an old fart now at 3.5 years old. She just lays around all day when we're not home. I can't recall the last time she's done anything naughty when we aren't home. Since the dog's kennel is so small, we leave Lucy loose and lock Shelly up everyday when we're gone. I always feel really guilty about poor Shelly being locked up, but I was just too afraid that they would wrestle and knock over a lamp, or pay tug-o-war with whatever they could get their paws on.

When I walked in and was happily greeted by both dogs, I was shocked and then scared! I just knew I was going to find all of my clothes that I lazily threw on the floor, along with all of my favorite shoes chewed up. I ran around the house and found....NOTHING! I counted 5 pairs of shoes laying around and not one was chewed. I picked up a bunch of clothes off the floor (can you believe we have a laundry shoot 5 feet from our bedroom?!?) and they were perfect...just where we had thrown them!

I know that I'm probably the only person on earth that cares, but I am such a proud puppy mom today! Shelly has always been a great dog, but today I am just elated to be her puppy mommy!

Now we can start leaving her loose with Lucy and I don't have to feel so guilty about the long hours they are stuck at home alone.
How could we possibly be naughty??
